Medical Herbalist
About the role
We're looking for a medical herbalist to help grow our herbal medicine service in Hillmorton, Christchurch.
You'll prepare personalised herbal prescriptions for patients with pain and inflammation, stress and sleep concerns, digestive health and hormonal balance, working closely with our osteopaths and acupuncturists.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out thorough consultations and prepare individualised herbal prescriptions
- Support patients with pain and inflammation, stress and sleep, digestive health and hormonal balance
- Screen for herb–drug interactions and contraindications, and refer patients on when appropriate
- Work alongside our osteopaths and acupuncturists on integrated treatment plans
- Keep accurate clinical and dispensing records in Cliniko
What you'll need
- A recognised qualification in herbal medicine
- Sound knowledge of herb–drug interactions and safe prescribing
- The right to work in New Zealand, or eligibility for a suitable visa
- Strong communication skills and a patient-centred approach
Nice to have
- Clinical or dispensing experience
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary clinic
